Here's a party idea for ya, Listen Here
I've always said.....Give different DJ's the Same records and, no matter what, they will Always play them differently
I know this to be true as it turns out some of my best friends are DJs, and we proved the point by haveing a little party...>). They started this little party game they called, "Give a Bitch 15 Records". This is where each DJ wanting to play, gets to pull 5 records (has to be Vinyl) from the record collection of the Host DJ, this time being John Alvarado. Records that we personally would want to play in a mix. The choices can be Anything, Any Style. After we have each pulled 5 trax.....we each get to pick one of the 20 to take Out of the mix, I think we let the host pull 2 trax to bring the total number of records to 15. Final selection done....we each have to record a mix using the same 15 records. We each get 10 minutes before you hit record....to familiarize ourselves with the records and various mixes to choose from. .....Probably records that you don't know...or mixes you haven't heard, or wouldn't normally play yourself. We Have to use at Least 12 of the 15 records in the mix. You can start the mix with or within any track, as long as at the end you've at least played 12 of the 15. "Give a Bitch 15 Records".
The host DJ was John A., with myself, CJ B and Kevin D. I went first, playing on a sound system that I didn't know. Recording with CD Architect. Two of the records I play in my sets, the others I had never heard, and everybody that stepped up record that night, at the time familiarize.....said the same thing....."How DID we pick this set? None of these records match."....>). This is My set of the "Give a Bitch 15 Records" (December 2005),
I call it..... The Herbicidal 13.
